I really like the kitchen in this house.  There are things I would like to update and change, but it is a nice first kitchen.  It was in great shape when we moved in...all new appliances, flooring and paint (even though we did repaint it a light moss green).  

List of ideas:

*new chairs for our table

*change the hardware on the cabinets

*backsplash (my friend Kat and Aaron are getting ready to backsplash their kitchen on their own...hopefully it goes well for them!)

*I also saw this DIY project on HGTV (my FAVORITE channel..I love most of the shows) where they made a rolling island that turned into a small table.  The family on the show had the same problem we do...a small kitchen that needs a table and more working counter space.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out but it looked great and not too difficult.  They also made a tall bench along the wall that served as a seating area and storage underneath.  I would eventually like to try this.  We'll see!

*Maybe paint the cabinets..I don't know though, I don't think they look too bad.

 

We really can't do a whole lot with this kitchen because we would want to see a return in everything we did.  

It was hard to get the whole kitchen in one pictures so I had to take a couple:

I just LOVE my pistachio kitchen aid mixer (and I do use it as often as I can)

We put the shelves in on the right.  They are very sturdy so we couldn't put anything too heavy on them.

Our little dining area...we eventually hope to get new chairs.  We found the table at Midlands Antiques.  It used to be an old library table...we thought it would be perfect in the space.

Our pantry we also got at Midlands.  I am not a fan of the clutter on top but I really don't have a whole lot of room for storage.
